Good morning Rhonda and cali,

well it is a slow start for me today -it is cold!  We have an appointment with a preschool this morning to see how it is.  Not sure about moving Ms V yet.  They are building a new school right down the street from us be we have no clue who is going to run it or how much it will be.

Had a nice weekend visited with my sis and her DH, went shopping at the flea market.  Yesterday was perfect weather wise.

Hope you have have a great day.  I will keep all the folks in So cal in my thought, those fires can be nasty.

Good Morning All!  First the good news.........I GOT MY KITCHEN BACK!!!!  So I spent the weekend painting it.  I put up beadboard wainscoating, a chair rail (I painted it RED) and got up all my cows and antiques and old tin cans.  My goodness I have a lot of stuff up on those shelves.  I painted the walls bright white, the shelves and chair rail are the perfect shade of glossy red, and I ordered new valliances for the slider and kitchen window.  All I need now is a floor!  Leaning towards a hardwood floor to complete my country kitchen feeling.  We'll see what the old man says.

Today is work.  Then I have to run take his skill saw to the repair shop (yes, I broke it and am trying to get it fixed before he comes home and finds out) take his disability check to the bank for him, go to my bank and deposit the check from him, then hit physical therapy and after that I'm meeting a friend at the River Trail to get our 5 mile walk in.

Whew, that's a lot!  After that, I have to go home and put up the last two pieces of chair railing.  I was too tired to finish last night.

Get your water in.  Get your vitamins in and MOVE YOUR BOOO-TAY!!!!

Tomorrow morning I go get my annual labs done.

Hey there Momo,

Did you know that they make floor tiles that look like wood.  Exactly like wood, you can get what you wants and not have to worry about ruining a floor.  I have it down in one of my bedrooms and bathroom, and no one knows it's tile unless they actually walk on it barefoot, because it's a little colder.  Vicki actually likes the tile in the summer time, she always lays on it when she is too warm.  Check it out.

Hugs, me

I will!  Thanks.  My entire living room, hallway (all 36 feet of it) and my back room are either tile or cement.  The only carpet in my house is the 3 bedrooms.  So easy to keep clean!!!!  I'll check it out.

Monday, Monday. Remember that song.  Well I am going to have a good day.  I have some house work to do.  Then I am picking up my grandson from pre-school and taking him home.  He is my angel!  I am going to walk a mile this morning.  My prayers go out to Heather and Doug too.  I hope they can get the fires under control soon.

Good morning everyone,

Well I'd like to say it's good and in the big picture, I'm alive and breathing but in the short term, some neighbor dogs kept us awake most of the night.  These two dogs, one a German Shepard and the other a Pit Bull type were running around the neighborhood all weekend.  They particularly like my house because of all the cats.  Yesterday was spent chasing them away just about all day.  Well last night, they decided it was really time to make their move on the cats and were just creating chaos outside our house and barking like crazy.  They have also been in everyone's trash.

It would appear that the people who own the dogs have gone away and left them.  They didn't move out of the house, I just think that perhaps they went away on vacation, or something.  So finally this morning Mike walks them back to their house for the millionth time and tries to open the gate to get them in the backyard and the gate is locked.  So we have no idea how they got out.  We have no idea when these people will be home.  We have no idea what to do about these animals.  The shepard is very friendly.  The pit bull is afraid of everything and everyone unless he's running with his shepard pal. Animal Control won't come out unless they are a threat. I don't think they are a danger to any person (the cats are a different story) but they are obviously getting very hungry.  If they are still running around tonight, I will get some dog food and take it to their house and feed them.  Maybe that will calm them down and keep them there.  I just don't understand how people can be so irresponsible about their animals.  If you have animals, take care of them.

But I shouldn't be surprised at these people.  These are the same ones who left their 7 year old home alone with his 4 year old brother while they went out someplace. There was a fire in the apartment building behind their house and the kids came running out into the street terrified.  One of the other neighbors called the police but by then the parents had gotten home and the police didn't do anything because they got home before the police showed up.  The parents said they were there all along and the kids were never alone.  These people are the perfect example of trash.

Anyway, so with all that said, I'm a bit cranky this morning.  I would like to be back home a snug as a bug in my bed.  Mike hurt his back and has a cold so he stayed home today and I was so jealous this morning having to get ready for work.  But I'm here, so I suppose I should get something accomplished. Hope everyone has a super great day and be sure to do something wonderful for yourself.

Good Morning,

To all of the people suffering due to the fires, my prayers are with you.

Saturday, I taught another knitting lession to the ladies of H.O.P.E. Chest, afterwards, I went to get my locs retightened.  Now it takes 4.5 hrs vs. 6-7 hrs.

Sunday, I went to the Hollywood Farmer's Market to buy some shea butter, came home (to pay the rent) and afterwards, to the Dodger game with my friend , Laura.  She was feeling a little under the weather, but she still had a great time.

That's my story and I am sticking to it.

Hi Rhonda and Cali Crew,

I hope the fires die down and everyone is safe and back in their houses. Fire is scary stuff.

Stephanie, your neighbors obviously should not be responsible for taking care of other beings. Those poor dogs. They're probably freaked out and wondering what's going on. It's nice of you to be worried about them and willing to get food for them. I can't believe they'd leave such young children alone at home either.

I am off work today because my mom needs an immediate follow-up to our time in the emergency room on Saturday night.  I've decided I may have to take family medical leave off too. Today will be the doctor's appointment and looking into how I do take medical leave. I am a bundle of nerves wanting to know exactly what we're facing, but I know life doesn't happen that way. What I am discovering is I am not eating over it.

Try to have a good Monday. This is one of those rare times where I'd rather be at work than dealing with my mom's health problem. I just want her to be better.
